Instead of scanning or snail mail, we use photos of your identity card or passport, and driver's license. Registering is easiest using the app.

You can rent cars everywhere in France as long as an owner has added its car, meaning: in town (Paris, Lille, Lyon, Nantes, Marseille, Toulon, Nice...), in the surburbs (Puteaux, Aubervilliers, Courbevoie...) but also in the countryside!

You rent somebody's car, therefore you have to bring it back where you picked it.

Of course, you're free to negotiate with the owner.

• Can I drive it to other countries?

  You can drive it to any of the "carte verte" countries (almost everywhere in Europe).

• Can I let other people drive?

  No. Only Buzzcar members can drive. We have their papers and they've check the terms and conditions boxes.

• Can I drive a Buzzcar to make deliveries or transport people for payment?

  No, with the exception of ridesharing, which we whole heartedly support!

• Can I pull a trailer with the car I've rented?

  Sorry no, our insurer doesn't like it.

• And of course, you cannot subrent the car!

The owner is in charge. He (and often she) chooses the hourly, daily (24 hours), and per kilometer prices. But Buzzcar does give guidance. We take into account the age, make, and model of a car, and whether it has off-street parking or not. The price includes gas, insurance, roadside assistance, and the Buzzcar commission. There is no hourly charge between midnight and 7am.

The price you pay will depend on the length of the reservation and the distance you traveled. Time will be rounded to the nearest 1/4 hour.

Interestingly (really, it is), drivers average about 11km an hour. So if the car costs 3€/hr and 0,20€/km the driver would pay 1x3 (number of hours x price/hour) + 11x0,20 (km x price/km) = 6.20€. The average rental price is therefore about 6.20€ an hour, 45€ a day with everything included !

Your hourly rate will turn into the daily rate once you hit the maximum daily rate, so keep that in mind as you choose how long you want to book the car for.

From the 3rd day of rental on, the daily price is divided by two.

Buzzcar is based on mutual respect between individuals and their property, and the community.

If you are a jerk (or even one by mistake), penalties will apply. If you are a jerk often, the comment section will reflect it and people won't rent from/to you. Frequent offenders, that jeopardize the well-being of the community, will be kicked out.  We really only want people who play nice.

Buzzcar takes a 15% commission for its services.

We accept credit cards and paypal.

Before the rental, we authorize the estimated cost. The full cost of the rental (including actual distance travelled) is debited at the end of the rental. You can find a summary of your reservation activity under your profile on the website.
